Th 2nd Maritime Fuel Supply Dialogues roundtable, which took place during the Global Africa Hydrogen Summit 2024 in Windhoek Namibia, brought together ministries, fuel developers, shipping industry stakeholders, and climate and development financiers operating across the Africa and Asia Pacific regions to discuss untapped market opportunities for hydrogen-derived fuels for the shipping sector.
It was an opportunity to build upon the collective commitment by the participants outlined in the first roundtable to brainstorm on levers and policies that can drive collective action towards enabling investment decisions and mobilising finance for the development of clean fuel supply infrastructure in the two regions.
This readout aims to summarise the discussion points raised during the second roundtable to support knowledge-sharing and accelerate actions from the public and private sectors that will leverage opportunities in Africa to stimulate supply of clean fuels to Asia-Pacific’s maritime hubs.
